November Sample Society Box

Hi everyone!

November's Sample Society box has dropped and it's a mixed bag of goodies. Some stuff is alright and some of it is awesome. I got a mini Illume candle in our my this month, yay!! Let's take a look at what else was inside..

1. Borghese Splendore Brightening Makeup (full size $29.50)- Be glamorous and gorgeous with a hint of shimmer. Splendore Brightening Makeup gives a subtle glow that brightens any complexion. This light-diffusing liquid camouflages imperfections and veils fine lines. I tried this over my usual skin care routine and it didn't do much except give my face a subtle hint of shimmer. I'll have to mix it in with my bb cream next time.

2. Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien Eau de Toilette (full size $92)- Tonic, zesty, sparkling, refined, subtle and fresh at the same time Eau d'Hadrien is the ultimate timeless fragrance for men and women with notes of Sicilian Lemon, Citron and Grapefruit, the scent is both sportive and chic.

3. Illume Balsam & Cedar Large Harlow Jar (full size $36)- Whoo hooo!!! Another candle in my box. This candle smells like Christmas trees and fresh pine cones. It smells soo good. Normally scented candles make my allergies go crazy, but Illume ones are so subtle and nice. This one is going directly into my travel bag so I can take the holiday spirit with me. I absolutely love it! Our Balsam and Cedar Large Harlow Jar features a comforting blend of fresh balsam and oak moss intertwined with aromatic cedar wood, cinnamon and eucalyptus to create the very essence of the holiday season. Up to 70 hour burn time.

4. Jane Iredale Lip Drink Lip Balm (full size $12)- Meh. Before I even try this product I have to say that the sample is so flimsy and feels like it's going to snap any second. Jane Iredale LipDrink - SPF 15 is a drink for the lips. This colorless lip balm contains no petroleum-derived ingredients to dry out the lips, making lips feel moist and smooth. Providing Broad Spectrum SPF 15 and UVA P++ protection, LipDrink is a refreshing treat.

5. Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture (full size $65)- Meet the single most hydrating moisturizer Murad has ever offered. Ultra-concentrated and intensely hydrating, this velvety cream provides all-day moisture, smoothness and comfort - leaving your skin positively radiant. This moisturizer is simple and nice. It kept my skin hydrated all day!

September Sample Society

Hello beauties!

September Sample Society's Box has dropped and it is great! It's been a lucky few months of beauty boxes because it's just been one superb box after another. This month's box features a beautiful vintage style hair piece from Deepa Gurnani and a four-step skin care regimen. Because good quality skin care can get so expensive, I am always so thankful to get skincare items in my beauty boxes. For fifteen dollars a month, Sample Society really blew it out of the park for me.

1. Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser (full size $32.95)-This adorable citrus scent face scrub was fun to use and did a good job at exfoliating my skin. It's actually not harsh on your skin and it smells like lemon candy.

2. Elemental Herbology Facial Glow (full size $64)- After washing your face with the sugar scrub you put on this peel to help reveal a glowing complexion. I left it on my face for four minutes then rinsed it off. My skin felt sooo soft and smooth and I love this product. Perks? You only have to use it once a week.

3. Murad Age Reform Rapid Collagen Infusion (full size $78)- Fast acting, multi-tasking formula fights wrinkles and loss of resilience by promoting healthy collagen and hydration levels. Immediately restores a more youthful appearance. I have been looking for a new serum to rotate into my skin care. After using this serum my skin looked a bit firmer after a few hours.

4.L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Face Cream (full size $58)- Yesss! A L'Occitane product in my box. This face cream was rich and creamy and also had a lemon scent. It left my skin hydrated and smooth. I actually love L'Occitane skin care.

How beautiful is this Deepa Gurnani Marquise Flower Clip? It's beautiful art deco style reminds me 1920's Great Gatsby style. If I ever needed an inspiration to do my hair, here it is! It also retails for $40 normally, wow. I also like it because it's easy to clip into your hair, it's just a simple bend clip that snaps into place easily.

All Sample Society boxes come with easy instructions on how to use the products. I love how high quality the products all are.

June Sample Society Box

Hi everyone! My June Sample Society Box has come in the mail and it's a great value box. Last month's box was underwhelming for me, but this month's box has lots of awesome stuff, including a small candle! Let's look at what was inside.

1. Stila Cosmetics Lip Glaze In Apricot (full size $22)- This lip gloss looked so pretty in the tube I didn't even want to try it. Mmmmmm it smells like apricot candy! It smells so good and juicy. The color on me pretty much looks clear with a tiny bit of shimmer. The texture is sticky.

2. Diptyque Eau Moheli (full size $98)- Diptyque's exclusive summer scent hits all the right notes: spicy, floral and green thanks to ylang-ylang, black currant, pink peppercorn and pachouli. Although, I'm not a huge perfume person myself, Diptyque makes wonderful perfumes. This one in particular reminds me of the gardenias my grandma plants in her backyard. If you're looking for elegant, floral, and classic scents, Diptyque is the way to go.

3. Philosophy Hope in a Jar (full size $40)- I've always seen this at Sephora and wanted to try it, but I never took the plunge. So when I saw it in my box I was pretty excited. This moisturizer was really lightweight and absorbed super fast into my skin. It had an interesting smell. At first, it smelled really chemical, but on closer inspection it kind of smells like licorice. I'm not a big fan of the smell to be honest. The product itself is pretty good. It doesn't keep my skin as tight as my other products, but it does a nice job of brightening up my skin.

4. Murad Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (full size $36)- Polish away dullness and locked-in impurities with Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, which utilizes a trio of gentle exfoliating acids. I really liked this lightweight cream cleanser. It had small exfoliating beads in it and it felt so gentle on my face. It says for optimal results to use it 2-3 times a week.

5. Illume Desert Tulip Tin (full size $22)- I'm sooo excited I got a mini candle in my box this month. Isn't it pretty? It has a light floral scent with notes of red tulip, raspberry, and musk. These would make awesome gifts for girlfriends. The mini ones are $9 each! I wouldn't mind if Sample Society sent me a candle every month. :)

I was super happy with this months box. I hope the next one will be just as great! Beauty boxes have opened me up to so many great items that I would have never tried on my own. I am really loving them. If you'd like to sign up for a box, you can do so here and enter the code: STAT4718 to get 20% off your first order. I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading! <3

March Sample Society

Hello everyone,

This month's Sample Society included a bunch of goodies from hair care to eyebrow conditioner. Granted, I didn't use all of the stuff, I was still happy to receive a full sized nail polish and a high quality eyebrow conditioner. Let's take a look at what is inside.

1. Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner (full size $23) - Awesome! A hair product I can really use. This was a nice sample with enough to last me at least a few weeks. I use a nickel size in my hair after I shower and let it air dry. It leaves my hair soft and moisturized. It's not greasy or heavy at all. However, because I have such unruly dry Mufasa hair, I still prefer my Nume hair oil over this one.

2. Hollywood Fashion Tape (full size $9.55) - Ok, I have to admit I was a little bit sad when I got this in my box. I don't really need fashion tape and would much prefer something else. But who knows, maybe someday this will come in handy. For now I will toss it in my box of beauty goodies. Oh yeah, this tape is good to keep your bra straps from showing or taping your low cut shirt to keep things classy.

3. butter LONDON 3 Free Nail Lacquer in The Old Bill (full size $15) - Yay! Who doesn't love getting a full size luxury nail polish? This color doesn't suit my tan skin, but maybe it will suit one of our readers? (hint hint future giveaway alert.)

4. Murad Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 (full size $60) - Holy moly! The full size version of this product is sixty dollars? Wowzers. Ok, here is another product that I was excited to try. Having dry skin I pretty much go through lotions like water. I use this face cream in the day and it's really nice because it's a one stop shop. Lotion? Check. Vitamin C? Check. SPF? Check. It's really non greasy which is nice because nothing is worse than trying to have an adult conversation and looking like you're about to cry because your moisturizer is melting and stinging your eyes. Surprisingly, I'm pretty happy with this one. (We'll talk about my previous Murad experiences later.)

5. LashFood Nano-Peptide Natural Eyebrow Conditioner (full size $90) - If someone would've told me ten years ago that eyebrow conditioners could be sold for ninety bucks each, you bet I would've done all of my Chemistry homework. Sorry mom. Anyways, I used this one once because I already have bushy eyebrows. Basically, its a clear serum that comes on a small brush tip and you can just brush it over the places where you want your brows to grow. It tingles a little and in 4-8 weeks you can expect Lily Collin's inspired brows.

Well, thats it folks! I really hope you enjoyed reading this post. As always, thank you SO MUCH for stopping by and supporting our beauty rambles. It really does mean the world to us. :)

December Sample Society Beauty Box

Hello everyone! I decided to switch things up a bit and order myself a Sample Society box from Allure. It costs $15 a month and also comes with a free subscription to Allure magazine (which I haven't received yet.) Inside the box are five beauty samples and also a mini beauty magazine. There is also a $15 gift code towards any $50 order on their corresponding beauty website. So far, this box is AWESOME. Onto the inside...

1. Lollia Wish Petite Treat Shea Buttter Handcreme ($7) .

Ooooooh, I love shea butter. Shea butter is so good for dry skin and this handcreme leaves my skin super super smooth. The scent is bergamot and jasmine and smells nice and floraly. I love this hand cream.

2. Hanskin Premium Perfect Super Magic BB Cream SPF30 PA++ ($33)

This bb cream looks really natural and has medium coverage. It's thickness is comparable to Missha bb cream. It's more suited for dry skin and for skin tones around NC25 or so. I did like this bb cream and it blends pretty easily with a sponge. It didn't irritate my skin either. However, the cream does oxidize a bit and turns slightly darker. To me, the Skin 79 diamond bb cream is still the winner because it provides a flawless matte finish and I feel like it really locks my skin in. This one I felt like did an ok job of covering any uneven skin textures. However, I am being really picky here.

3. Murad Age Reform Time Release Retinol Concentrate ($65)

Ok, I can't really comment this product because I don't have deep wrinkles yet. However, I will be using it sporadically at night on my "future wrinkles". :) Retinol is pretty much a concentrated dose of vitamin A which is really good for curing or preventing wrinkles.

4. Philosophy Living Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel ($22)

This product smells really good. It has a richer scent and almost reminds me of cologne a tiny bit. It lathers up really well as a shower gel and also works well as as a shampoo. My hair felt clean and soft after using this.

5. Delaney Rejuvenating Eye Creme ($135)

This eye cream retails for $135?! Wow, it's no wonder the eye cream almost looks like liquid gold a bit. This grape-infused formula is used to tighten and brighten the delicate skin around the eyes. When I used this product my skin got a bit irritated but I really do not think it is the product itself. I think I am just using too many products. I stopped using eye creams in general for the past couple of days and all of my problems went away. I am currently going to continue to use my current eye cream to prevent any irritation, then I will come back and use this and give it a real review in the future. Sorry I only have two eye sockets and right now they're mad at me. :(

I have to say this box is super. I love how it focuses on beauty products only. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this box. It's pretty much Glossybox's equally cool cousin in beauty products and I will happily continue my subscription. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
