Living Proof, The Full Collection

When Sephora's black friday sale went up, I was actually at Best Buy refreshing the app like a crazy person. I knew that if I didn't get what I wanted now, it will more than likely be sold out. One of the products I ordered was this Living Proof collection and after only one use, what a huge difference it made. Since it's winter, my hair has been pretty limp, dull and extremely staticy. After using the shampoo and conditioner once, I immediately notice that my hair grew in volume... even the next day. I know this isn't even their thickening line, but for my hair? It brought it back to life! Now, I really want to try their No Frizz Shampoo. Have you tried it? Or tried any of their products? What did you think?

NYM's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo

In the last 2 years, I have started to test out some dry shampoos instead of washing my hair every single day. Yes, I know that washing your hair daily is bad for your hair and scalp, but I have an oily scalp and I usually look like a giant grease ball the next day if I skip a day.

Last year I had read rave reviews on Dove's invigorating dry shampoo and I had to give it a go. I purchased it twice and was incredibly disappointed! Don't get me wrong, the product itself worked, but I only got one use out of each can. I'm completely serious. I'm even one of those weirdos who likes to pick products from the back of the shelf to insure I have an unopened package. Huge disappoint and since then I've looked at a lot of dry shampoos, but I refuse to pay more than $10 for a can. Probably because I didn't want to spend a lot and only get one or two uses out of it.

More than a year later... Not Your Mother's clean freak refreshing dry shampoo was discovered and has forever changed my life. This stuff is amazing! I kid you not. At about $4-5 for a 7oz can, I have used this 4 times already and I have still more uses to go. There's nothing like waking up to oily hair but too darn lazy to wash it... spray spray spray. Wait and comb. BAM! The oil in your hair was absorbed, you get VOLUME, your hair smells nice and fresh and no one would of guessed you skipped washing the night before. I'm telling you guys... this is a must try!

May Sample Society Box

Hello everyone!

May's Sample Society Box was an off one for me. I had a couple of items that were too similar to the beauty products I already own, but still a high quality good value box nonetheless. Here's what was in it:

1. Dr. Brandt Flexitone BB Cream SPF 30 (full size $39)- Like all BB creams, they provide a beautiful flawless finish. This one is no different. It covered my pores and redness, but still showed the small bumps on my skin. Unfortunately, it was too dark for me so I couldn't even wear it out. I didn't want people to think I got ready in the dark, so I took it off after an hour. This could be a good bb cream for anyone who is NC30 or higher. Also, be sure to blend quickly otherwise it could get streaky.

2. YU-BE Moisturizing Skin Cream (full size $24.85)- This texture of this cream reminded me of Neutrogena Norweigian Formula Hand Cream. Also, it smells just like tiger balm! I have to keep trying this cream to see more results, but the sample was ever so tiny.



3. Kate Somerville Somerville360 Tanning Towelettes (full size $48)- Because I am already tan I didn't use this one. I'll have to pass it off to one of my paler friends. The description on it says "the easiest way to get glowing. These convenient self-tanning towelettes make for quick, even application- no streaking."



4. Alterna Bamboo Shine Luminous Shine Mist (full size $24)- I actually received this spray in one of my previous beauty boxes. I absolutely LOVE this spray. I use it after I flat iron my hair and it gives it a beautiful and sleek finish. I was actually happy to receive another one of these.

5. Jane Iredale Forever Pink Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain (full size $25)- It seems like color adapting lipsticks are all over the place these days. This one is really similar to my Pixi magic tint. On me it turns into a bright hot pink.

Overall, this was an ok box for me. I generally love Sample Society boxes but the items in this one just weren't suited to my skin tone or interests. Oh well, hopefully the next box will be better! Thanks for reading! :)

April's Ipsy Bag

Sorry for the extremely late post on my first Ipsy bag! First off, I don't know why, but my bag was here in WA, but decided to take a trip to CA and then back to here. Odd, I know. When I finally received the hot pink bubble mailer I was so excited! I'm not too thrilled about the bag itself though, but the items inside were okay and I was just happy that nothing broke in transit.



Sexy Hair Powder Play retail $15.95 // Originally, I was hoping to get the Soy hair shampoo because it's one of my favorite every day shampoo. I don't normally style my hair so I received the Powder play, I wasn't too thrilled, but I think it will be good product to use when I attend a wedding next month.

Sation Nail Lacquer in Love At First Byte retail $5.00 // The color I received is a peachy flesh tone nude and I have to say, it looks horrible on me! What I do like about the product is that it's Formaldehyde, DBP & Toluene Free.

Be A Bombshell Blush in Beach Please retail $16.00 // This blush is really bright and very pigmented! HOLYMOLY. A little definitely goes a looooong way with this one.

Mica Beauty Mineral Eye Shadow in Earth retail $14.95 // This product is extremely gentle, free of preservatives, chemicals, dyes, talc, oils, and other fillers. The color? Absolutely gorgeous! It's a light shimmery color and I like that it's over shimmery where my eyes are like disco balls.

Overall, this bag didn't impress me much, but I'm definitely looking forward to May's bag which looks pretty promising.

Garnier Olia Shade 3.0

I'm a BzzAgent and I was really excited to be invited to join the Garnier Olia campaign! I dyed my hair back to black last year and have let my roots grow out because it's just easier to maintain, but the one thing about going back to black is when I get white hairs. White on black is like "Look here! I have white hair!" Not pretty. I originally had bought black dye a couple months ago with very intention of dying my hair last month, but I got lazy and the last time I dyed it black, it got extremely messy. If you dye your hair at home, then you know you have to open all the windows and turn on fans because of the ammonia. It's winter. I don't want to freeze to death! One of the best things about this product is that there is no ammonia smell and even though they say it has a nice floral scent... it's not that pleasant either.

Unlike traditional haircolor, Oila uses an exclusive 60% oil blend, with natural flower oils, in the colorant. The unique oil-based formula maximizes the coloring process to achieve permanent color results. It propels colorants deep into hair, without ammonia, for pure, vivid, long-lasting color. Olia visibly improves and restores the look of hair, as oils help to reverse roughness and dullness for softer, shinier hair with bounce.

Color choices. Considering I already have dark hair, going lighter isn't really a smart option unless I want to end up looking like Tony the Tiger. Instead of going black, I just went with the darkest brown (shade 3.0). Truthfully, you can't even tell I dyed my hair and I think that's why I chose this shade. I know when I dyed my hair black, it was obvious that it was fake black and I had to wait a couple weeks for it to fade. So far, my hair has not washed out... you know, washing your hair the day after and seeing your dye on your towel... ick!

If you're the type to dye your hair at home, I highly recommend trying out Garnier Olia! It was on sale at Walgreens for $9.99, but I got mine for free thanks to BzzAgent. Also, if you're not a BzzAgent yet, I highly recommend!

Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner Review

One, or two of the first products I tried from my Glossybox was the Sebastian Professional Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner. For samples, these have got to be the best trial samples I've ever received. The shampoo alone will give you at least 2-3 washes or more if you have short hair. The smell itself is amazing! The conditioner is alright. I really like that the texture is more like a mousse and just one pump goes a long way. You can definitely get quite a few uses out of the conditioner. The only downfall is the smell.

Regular price for the full product is about $16/$16.50 I believe. Would I purchase it? Probably not. As much as I enjoyed the samples, I already love the shampoo I use now and I barely buy conditioners.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Shampoo

I have this weird thing about having a variety of shampoo in my shower. I currently have 6 bottles! I also wash my hair every day, which I know is bad for your hair, but my hair turns into a giant grease ball the next day and I'm constantly itching. So, instead of using the same shampoo every day, I like to switch it up because it makes my hair feel softer. Though, I've noticed that when I use some of my more natural, Organic shampoo it actually dries out my hair!

What I love most about the Alba Botanica shampoo is the smell. I only purchase the Plumeria one mainly because I love the scent so much. On top of that, this is the only shampoo that I can use daily without it drying out my hair. I usually do not use conditioner and sadly, I accidently picked up a conditioner thinking it was shampoo! I hate it when people misplace things on the shelves!!! Depending on where you go, this shampoo can be pretty costly at about $10-12, but I usually get mine at my local Safeway when it's on sale for abut $5-6.99. I have seen Walgreens and Target ranging in the high $10 range which yea, it's worth it, but I'm kinda cheap. You also check out the other shampoos that they offer on their website.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil

Hello girls! I'm Yen, how very nice to meet you. Jenny and I have decided to come together and turn this into a collaboration project. I am really excited to be here and hope you enjoy our blog.

So, my local Safeway was having a buy one get one half off on selected Organix hair products and I picked the Moroccan argan oil shampoo and penetrating oil. Now, I don't know about you, but the shampoo really doesn't help my hair, it actually makes my hair more dry than it already is. The penetrating oil? AMAZING!!! It made my hair incredibly smooth, shiny and so so soft. On top of that, the smell of the product is amazing and even after it dries, the smell still lingers.

At my Safeway, original price is $7.99, but when I went to my local Albertsons the other day it was priced at $6.99. I highly recommend trying this product especially when they are on sale or have the bogo deal.
