December Sample Society

Hi everyone!

How are you all doing? I know I have a ton of stuff to catch up on. I have quite a few beauty boxes to sift through and to review, so you will be seeing a lot of them on the blog in the next few weeks. Today I will be reviewing Sample Society's December box. It was actually a really good box and I was pretty happy with it. Lets take a look inside...

1. Ouidad Curl Recovery Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil ($25)- I've never tried a cleansing oil for my hair before so I was excited to get this in my box. It's like a gel that lathers and foams in your hair. The first time I used it I used a lot to get my hair clean and my hair came out a bit dry. The second time I used it I didn't use much and I couldn't get my hair clean. Maybe I'm not using it right?

2. Ren Hydra-Calm Global Protection Day Cream for Sensitive Skin ($45)- A moisturizer formulated to leave more sensitive skin optimally hydrated, calmed, soothed, protected and looking beautifully healthy. It protects against free radicals to combat the signs of premature aging. This was a great moisturizer. It was lightweight and it moisturized my face well.

3. diego dalla palma Rossorossetto Lipstick-102. Red (full size $34)- Wow this is one really red lipstick. It's more of a neutral cool red that makes your teeth instantly whiter. It's a beautiful lipstick and was pretty easy to apply, but for $34 I don't think I would splurge on it. The color was so bright that it's definitely more of a special occasion lipstick.

4. Philosophy Hope In A Jar Night Intensive Retexturizing Moisturizer ($50)- Hope in a jar night intense retexturing moisturizer features an innovative qusome delivery system that enhances efficacy, while limiting the potential for irritation. skin is noticeably smoother, lines are visibly softened, a rosy glow is restored and results continue to improve with nightly use. I've actually reviewed this one before. It's a good moisturizer but the smell is too chemical for me.

5. Alterna Caviar Dry Shampoo ($22)- Yay! A dry shampoo sample. I don't know how I ever functioned before dry shampoo. This is a powder formula that you just tilt and sprinkle into your hair. It worked just fine and it absorbed the oil in my hair. However, I still prefer Batiste dry shampoo because of the fun cold blast it gives you. It just feels more refreshing. Also, I think $22 is too much for a dry shampoo.

Overall, a solid box with lots of good quality samples to try. I think out of everything in this box I would probably purchase the Ren moisturizer.

October Sample Society Box

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing? It's finally cooling down in California and I don't know about you but I am so excited for fall! Autumn means pumpkin pie, candles, and lattes galore. I am also ready to break out the cute coats and boots for fall too. Anyways, this month's Sample Society box is here and it's just ok for me. Lets take a look at what is inside:

1. butter LONDON 3 Free Nail Lacquer-Scallywag ($15)- I admit it's nice to have a luxury nail polish in my box but unfortunately I just know that this shade of blue won't flatter my skin tone. I'll probably use this for a giveaway in the future, so stay tuned!

2. Ouidad Botanical Boost Moisture Infusing & Refreshing Spray ($full size $17)- Hm hm hm, a detangler, heat protectant and leave in moisturizer for curly and wavy haired gals. After using this my hair was moisturized and my wavy hair was enhanced. If you have beautiful wavy or curly hair this could be a good product for you. For me, I don't like the natural medusa waves in my hair so I prefer to use something that doesn't enhance them. The product is very lightweight and doesn't leave your hair greasy at all.

3. Diptyque 34 Eau De Toilette (full size $100)- 34 boulevard saint germain is a fragrance celebrating Diptyque's 50th anniversary. 34 encapsulates the scent of its first boutique located on 34 boulevard saint germain with rare and precious fragrances. The result is a fragrance that has an innovative and complex signature, that is neither feminine nor masculine. Ok, I don't like perfume in general so I'm stashing this for now.

4. Minus 417 Hand Moisturizer (full size $14)- Contains natural oils such as evening primrose oil and olive oil. Protects your hands from weather hazards and leaves the skin nourished and silky soft to the touch. Yay! A hand moisturizer. I can never get enough moisturizers and hand creams. Especially now that it's winter I will be going through these like water. I really like this hand cream. It left my skin feeling soft and non greasy. I felt like it locked in moisture really well which is perfect when I just want to put it on and leave the house. I would buy this.

5. IPKN Moist & Firm BB SPF 45 in 02 light (full size $35)- Another BB cream? Sure, why not! I've never actually heard of IPKN before so I was curious to test out this bb cream. The formula is good! It dries perfectly matte and you don't need much to cover your face. The only thing is that it was too dark for me. I would have to try the fair version instead. I would purchase this, just in a different shade!

July Sample Society Box

Hello everyone!

Today I will be reviewing July's Sample Society Box. I have to say I have been so happy with my Sample Society boxes lately. Last month's was great and so is this month's box. For $15 a month, I am really impressed. Without further ado, let's take a look inside...

1. Vincent Longo Eyeshadow Trio in Paradise Love ($30)- Imagine my surprise when I opened my box and saw a Vincent Longo Eyeshadow Trio! So exciting!! Ok, the colors are a little ahem festive, but still such a pleasant surprise. I am looking forward to trying and reviewing this trio.

2. Tres Pure Face Tonic (full size $65)- This extraordinary formulation prevents drying after cleansing, and the soothing and anti-stress Immortelle neutralizes free radicals thereby diminishing irritation and dryness, while also providing maximum hydration and preventing the trans-epidermal loss of water; therefore perfect for men after shaving. Carrot Seed improves the skin's visible signs of aging by preventing oxidation, providing the skin with a luminous and smooth appearance. I did give this toner a try but my skin reacted a bit. So for now, I'm putting it aside.

3. Lollia Wish Shea Butter Hand Creme (full size $25)- Whoo hoo! Another Lollia Hand Creme. I actually received this hand creme in one of my previous boxes and loved it. It's super hydrating, is creamy textured, and has a sweet buttery scent to it. I'm going to put this right into my purse right now.

4. Ouidad Moisture Lock Define & Shine Curl Styling Gel Cream (full size $24)-Our newest styling technology created to bring out and add definition to waves & curls Unique botanical and vitamin enriched complex infuses hair with a dose of moisture that plumps the hair shaft, helping it maintain its natural curl pattern, promoting definition Styling Gel-Cream that keeps curls hydrated, defined, soft and shiny all day Non-sticky formula easily glides onto hair without weighing it down.

5. Dr. T's Supergoop! Advanced SPF 37 Eye Cream (full size $45)- The eye cream that never rests to give you a well rested, rejuvenated look, reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving under eye firmness.

So...because my skin has been acting up a bit lately (probably because I've been spending so much time at my really germy neighborhood gym) I didn't thoroughly use this month's products. I'm just way too happy with my current skin care routine to mess with it at the moment. If you'd like to sign up for Sample Society you can do so here and make sure to enter the code STAT4718 to receive 20% off your first order! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for stopping by and reading! :)

March Sample Society

Hello everyone,

This month's Sample Society included a bunch of goodies from hair care to eyebrow conditioner. Granted, I didn't use all of the stuff, I was still happy to receive a full sized nail polish and a high quality eyebrow conditioner. Let's take a look at what is inside.

1. Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner (full size $23) - Awesome! A hair product I can really use. This was a nice sample with enough to last me at least a few weeks. I use a nickel size in my hair after I shower and let it air dry. It leaves my hair soft and moisturized. It's not greasy or heavy at all. However, because I have such unruly dry Mufasa hair, I still prefer my Nume hair oil over this one.

2. Hollywood Fashion Tape (full size $9.55) - Ok, I have to admit I was a little bit sad when I got this in my box. I don't really need fashion tape and would much prefer something else. But who knows, maybe someday this will come in handy. For now I will toss it in my box of beauty goodies. Oh yeah, this tape is good to keep your bra straps from showing or taping your low cut shirt to keep things classy.

3. butter LONDON 3 Free Nail Lacquer in The Old Bill (full size $15) - Yay! Who doesn't love getting a full size luxury nail polish? This color doesn't suit my tan skin, but maybe it will suit one of our readers? (hint hint future giveaway alert.)

4. Murad Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 (full size $60) - Holy moly! The full size version of this product is sixty dollars? Wowzers. Ok, here is another product that I was excited to try. Having dry skin I pretty much go through lotions like water. I use this face cream in the day and it's really nice because it's a one stop shop. Lotion? Check. Vitamin C? Check. SPF? Check. It's really non greasy which is nice because nothing is worse than trying to have an adult conversation and looking like you're about to cry because your moisturizer is melting and stinging your eyes. Surprisingly, I'm pretty happy with this one. (We'll talk about my previous Murad experiences later.)

5. LashFood Nano-Peptide Natural Eyebrow Conditioner (full size $90) - If someone would've told me ten years ago that eyebrow conditioners could be sold for ninety bucks each, you bet I would've done all of my Chemistry homework. Sorry mom. Anyways, I used this one once because I already have bushy eyebrows. Basically, its a clear serum that comes on a small brush tip and you can just brush it over the places where you want your brows to grow. It tingles a little and in 4-8 weeks you can expect Lily Collin's inspired brows.

Well, thats it folks! I really hope you enjoyed reading this post. As always, thank you SO MUCH for stopping by and supporting our beauty rambles. It really does mean the world to us. :)
