January Sample Society

Hello everyone,

I hope you're having a good Monday today. I will be reviewing Sample Society's January box. I wasn't too keen on this month's box because some of the items were not suitable for me. However, I did receive a lovely lipstick this month! Let's take a look…

1. Stila Cosmetics Color Balm Lipstick-Vivienne ($22)- A modern take on traditional lipstick, this creamy, lip color provides the full pigment load of a lipstick, yet delivers the shine of a gloss. Featuring a luxe, satin finish, this formula offers excellent color payoff while phyto-derived emollient properties deliver hydrated, healthy lips. Naturally cooling peppermint oil provides a fresh and rejuvenating sensation on the lips, while an exclusive certified organic sunflower based polyglyceride soothes, smoothes, and adds volume and definition to lips. Available in 16 luscious shades. I was really happy to get this lipstick in my box. I'm always happy when I get lipsticks in my box. :D The color is really natural and pretty and definitely a rosy MLBB shade. The texture is creamy.

2. Butter London Horse Power Nail Fertilizer ($20)-Horse Power Nail Fertilizer packs a punch even without those chemical nasties. Like makeup for the nails, it uses an herbal ingredient called Horsetail to strengthen and repair nails. When used properly, the results are really quite staggering! This seems like a great product, but since I have strong nails (from eating a lot of rice,) I personally won't use it. I will probably use it for an upcoming giveaway. :)

3. Orlane Paris Extreme Line Reducing Lip Care ($75)- Achieve truly kissable lips with Orlane Paris Extreme Line Reducing Lip Care. This luxurious treatment plumps lips in just minutes, helping to redefine a beautiful pout. It also hydrates, softens and protects, while preventing fine lines and wrinkles from forming around lips. Ok, so I don't know why I opened this up, but I tried it anyways. It's like a milky watery substance that you put on your lips and it supposedly helps to reduce wrinkles. I don't have any wrinkles yet on my lips so I can't say whether or not it works. It doesn't taste like anything either.

4. StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ($65)-Reduce the formation of wrinkles around eyes with the use of StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. This formula can fight against dark circles, puffiness around eyes, fine lines and crow's feet within weeks. It can increase the firmness, improve texture and renew skin's natural collagen. With regular use of this formula, you can reinforce skin's elasticity and do away fine lines and crow's feet. I will be gifting this to a friend.

5. Tocca Eau de Parfum, Margaux ($68)- The full moon overhead casts a silver light on a midnight stroll between a French beauty and her beloved. Evoking the warmth and comfort of finding your soulmate, Margaux embraces you with velvety petals of green gardenia and ambery violet. The richness of cashmere wood and warm musk, lightened by the sweetness of vanilla, envelop you in an intoxicating perfume that conjures the timelessness of that one true love. / Top Notes: Blood Orange, Bergamot Blossom, Cassis, Green Gardenia / Middle Notes: Black Jasmine, Ambery Violet, Cashmere Woods / Bottom Notes: Warm Musk, Benzoin, Vanilla, Heliotrope.

What did you guys think of this box? Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great rest of the week. <3

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment

Hi everyone! So a while back on youtube I kept on hearing all the rave about Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($28.50). Somehow through Youtube osmosis I decided to go out and get one too. Turns out it was one of the best beauty decisions I've made in a long time. The eye cream leaves the skin around my eyes hydrated without irritating it at all. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I haven't seen any breakouts, so big sigh of relief here. My main eye concerns are dry skin and wrinkle prevention. I can't say how it works with wrinkles, but I can promise you that using an eye cream will only have positive benefits in the long run!

The texture of the eye cream is like a slightly tacky lotion. A little goes a long way and I apply it on the orbital bone of my eye day and night. It's made of pretty natural ingredients which makes me happy. So far, this is the only eye cream I've tried that doesn't leave breakouts on my skin. There's no spf in the product, but hey that's what sunnies are for. :) Have any of you tried Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado? If so, what did you think?

July Sample Society Box

Hello everyone!

Today I will be reviewing July's Sample Society Box. I have to say I have been so happy with my Sample Society boxes lately. Last month's was great and so is this month's box. For $15 a month, I am really impressed. Without further ado, let's take a look inside...

1. Vincent Longo Eyeshadow Trio in Paradise Love ($30)- Imagine my surprise when I opened my box and saw a Vincent Longo Eyeshadow Trio! So exciting!! Ok, the colors are a little ahem festive, but still such a pleasant surprise. I am looking forward to trying and reviewing this trio.

2. Tres Pure Face Tonic (full size $65)- This extraordinary formulation prevents drying after cleansing, and the soothing and anti-stress Immortelle neutralizes free radicals thereby diminishing irritation and dryness, while also providing maximum hydration and preventing the trans-epidermal loss of water; therefore perfect for men after shaving. Carrot Seed improves the skin's visible signs of aging by preventing oxidation, providing the skin with a luminous and smooth appearance. I did give this toner a try but my skin reacted a bit. So for now, I'm putting it aside.

3. Lollia Wish Shea Butter Hand Creme (full size $25)- Whoo hoo! Another Lollia Hand Creme. I actually received this hand creme in one of my previous boxes and loved it. It's super hydrating, is creamy textured, and has a sweet buttery scent to it. I'm going to put this right into my purse right now.

4. Ouidad Moisture Lock Define & Shine Curl Styling Gel Cream (full size $24)-Our newest styling technology created to bring out and add definition to waves & curls Unique botanical and vitamin enriched complex infuses hair with a dose of moisture that plumps the hair shaft, helping it maintain its natural curl pattern, promoting definition Styling Gel-Cream that keeps curls hydrated, defined, soft and shiny all day Non-sticky formula easily glides onto hair without weighing it down.

5. Dr. T's Supergoop! Advanced SPF 37 Eye Cream (full size $45)- The eye cream that never rests to give you a well rested, rejuvenated look, reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving under eye firmness.

So...because my skin has been acting up a bit lately (probably because I've been spending so much time at my really germy neighborhood gym) I didn't thoroughly use this month's products. I'm just way too happy with my current skin care routine to mess with it at the moment. If you'd like to sign up for Sample Society you can do so here and make sure to enter the code STAT4718 to receive 20% off your first order! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for stopping by and reading! :)

December Sample Society Beauty Box

Hello everyone! I decided to switch things up a bit and order myself a Sample Society box from Allure. It costs $15 a month and also comes with a free subscription to Allure magazine (which I haven't received yet.) Inside the box are five beauty samples and also a mini beauty magazine. There is also a $15 gift code towards any $50 order on their corresponding beauty website. So far, this box is AWESOME. Onto the inside...

1. Lollia Wish Petite Treat Shea Buttter Handcreme ($7) .

Ooooooh, I love shea butter. Shea butter is so good for dry skin and this handcreme leaves my skin super super smooth. The scent is bergamot and jasmine and smells nice and floraly. I love this hand cream.

2. Hanskin Premium Perfect Super Magic BB Cream SPF30 PA++ ($33)

This bb cream looks really natural and has medium coverage. It's thickness is comparable to Missha bb cream. It's more suited for dry skin and for skin tones around NC25 or so. I did like this bb cream and it blends pretty easily with a sponge. It didn't irritate my skin either. However, the cream does oxidize a bit and turns slightly darker. To me, the Skin 79 diamond bb cream is still the winner because it provides a flawless matte finish and I feel like it really locks my skin in. This one I felt like did an ok job of covering any uneven skin textures. However, I am being really picky here.

3. Murad Age Reform Time Release Retinol Concentrate ($65)

Ok, I can't really comment this product because I don't have deep wrinkles yet. However, I will be using it sporadically at night on my "future wrinkles". :) Retinol is pretty much a concentrated dose of vitamin A which is really good for curing or preventing wrinkles.

4. Philosophy Living Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel ($22)

This product smells really good. It has a richer scent and almost reminds me of cologne a tiny bit. It lathers up really well as a shower gel and also works well as as a shampoo. My hair felt clean and soft after using this.

5. Delaney Rejuvenating Eye Creme ($135)

This eye cream retails for $135?! Wow, it's no wonder the eye cream almost looks like liquid gold a bit. This grape-infused formula is used to tighten and brighten the delicate skin around the eyes. When I used this product my skin got a bit irritated but I really do not think it is the product itself. I think I am just using too many products. I stopped using eye creams in general for the past couple of days and all of my problems went away. I am currently going to continue to use my current eye cream to prevent any irritation, then I will come back and use this and give it a real review in the future. Sorry I only have two eye sockets and right now they're mad at me. :(

I have to say this box is super. I love how it focuses on beauty products only. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this box. It's pretty much Glossybox's equally cool cousin in beauty products and I will happily continue my subscription. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
