September Sample Society

Hello beauties!

September Sample Society's Box has dropped and it is great! It's been a lucky few months of beauty boxes because it's just been one superb box after another. This month's box features a beautiful vintage style hair piece from Deepa Gurnani and a four-step skin care regimen. Because good quality skin care can get so expensive, I am always so thankful to get skincare items in my beauty boxes. For fifteen dollars a month, Sample Society really blew it out of the park for me.



1. Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser (full size $32.95)-This adorable citrus scent face scrub was fun to use and did a good job at exfoliating my skin. It's actually not harsh on your skin and it smells like lemon candy.

2. Elemental Herbology Facial Glow (full size $64)- After washing your face with the sugar scrub you put on this peel to help reveal a glowing complexion. I left it on my face for four minutes then rinsed it off. My skin felt sooo soft and smooth and I love this product. Perks? You only have to use it once a week.

3. Murad Age Reform Rapid Collagen Infusion (full size $78)- Fast acting, multi-tasking formula fights wrinkles and loss of resilience by promoting healthy collagen and hydration levels. Immediately restores a more youthful appearance. I have been looking for a new serum to rotate into my skin care. After using this serum my skin looked a bit firmer after a few hours.

4.L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Face Cream (full size $58)- Yesss! A L'Occitane product in my box. This face cream was rich and creamy and also had a lemon scent. It left my skin hydrated and smooth. I actually love L'Occitane skin care.



How beautiful is this Deepa Gurnani Marquise Flower Clip? It's beautiful art deco style reminds me 1920's Great Gatsby style. If I ever needed an inspiration to do my hair, here it is! It also retails for $40 normally, wow. I also like it because it's easy to clip into your hair, it's just a simple bend clip that snaps into place easily.



All Sample Society boxes come with easy instructions on how to use the products. I love how high quality the products all are.

August Sample Society Box

1. Korres Cherry Lip Gloss in 33 Natural (full size $17)- Yayy! I was so excited to get a Korres product in my box because I love natural beauty products. The lip gloss smells like cherry Starburst to me and the color is a smidge darker than my natural lip color, making it a very good every day sheer lip gloss. The texture is a bit sticky. Overall, I really like this lip gloss and the next time I go to Sephora I'm going to try out a few more colors.

2. Jane Iredale PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner (full size $16.50)- Ok, I can always use a lash booster. This one is pretty good it gave my lashes more volume and kept my mascara from falling out. I'm not sure if I would specifically go out of my way to buy it because I am so happy with my Great Lash mascara, but it's pretty good!

3. Dr. T's Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 (full size $42)- Hmmm, I feel half half on this product. I love how this sunscreen contains antioxidants and is good for your skin. I like how lightweight it is as well. The only thing that bothers me is that it melts into my eyes a few hours later which causes them to sting. Because I normally don't wear makeup I need a sunscreen that will stay completely matte on my face for hours. For that reason I probably will not purchase this product.



4. Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream (full size $26)- Oooooo! A Dr. Hauschka product! I've been seeing this line in Germany for so many years but I haven't really picked up much from his line. This cleansing cream is super gentle and good for sensitive skin. It comes out in a paste and you're supposed to roll it onto your skin and then wash off. It smells like a mixture of apples and roses, very soft and pleasant. I would definitely buy this product again.

5. Brad Ultra Peel (full size $175)- An exfoliating gel without exfoliating beads? Whaaaaat? This was the most interesting product I received in my box this month. It's a clear gel that exfoliates your skin without having to physically scrub it. After using it my skin looked smoother and cleaner than before. I have to admit the price tag is a bit too scary for me, but for those who can afford it it's quite good.

May Glossybox

Hello everyone!

I present to you the May Glossybox. Perfume, hair spray, and CC cream galore! Let's take a closer look.



1. My Prime Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer (full size $68)- My Prime’s lightweight moisturizer packs a double punch with intense hydration and superior anti-aging benefits while delivering a flawless, matte finish. It also doubles as a primer that keeps your makeup on all day long. Wow! I have tried a couple of primers before but never really felt the need for one as I like to keep my skin as minimal as possible. However, this one worked really well for me. I layered it under my Amore Pacific CC cream and it worked like a charm. Not only did it hydrate my skin, but I really felt it locked in moisture and provided a smooth canvas for makeup application.

2. Nicka K New York Absolute! Perfume Stick (full size $15)- Escape the everyday with evocative scents, both refined and seductive, and each with a different secret to discover. Parceled in beautiful, boutique-inspired packaging, these addictive perfumes are perfectly sized to slip into your purse and transform your world. Mmmmm! I normally hate perfume, but this one is actually really nice. It smells like lime fruit candy but not overpowering or sickly. I really want to smell the other ones too.

3. Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray (full size $20)- The Volupt Spray is a volume-building spray gel with the cushion particle technology that best combines full volume and sensual softness. Shake well to activate its two-phase for- mula and spray on damp hair. Blowdry for extra body or air-dry to enhance waves and curls. Ok, I'm going to be honest here. I already have huge hair that can conduct electricity, so the last thing I really need is a volume spray...



4. AMOREPACIFIC Color Control Cushion Compact (full size $60)- This Color Control Cushion Compact is a multitasking wonder. It contains powerful broad-spectrum SPF protection to combat free radicals, deep hydration for replenished skin, and complete coverage for smooth skin all in one lightweight, portable compact. This was my favorite item in the entire box. It's actually a CC cream which is the evolved version of the BB cream. The product comes in a sponge soaked pot and you use a foundation sponge to dab it on your face. At first I was skeptical, but the results are nothing but amazing! The product goes on so easily and it literally erases your pores and redness. Also it looks completely natural and has SPF 50+. The sample that Glossybox sent me was 106 Almond blush which was too dark and orange, so I went out to Sephora and tried the 104 Tan Blush which is pretty close (but still a smidge dark) to my light but summer tanned skin.

If there ever was a breakthrough product of the year for me, this would be it. I really hope the company comes out with more colors because even 104 would be way too dark for fair or lighter skin tones. The entire line just seems more suited to medium skin tones. I'm really loving this CC cream because it's sheerer than a BB cream and it's perfect if you want a natural and minimal looking product to cover pores and redness.



5. European Wax Center The Exfoliate (full size $38)- This refines and polishes your skin without any harsh abrasives. Ummm, to be honest this gel exfoliator without beads smelled tropical and great but it didn't do much for my skin. I think I'll pass.

6. Etre Belle Collagen & Aloe Vera Hydro Mask (full size $40/10 masks)- This restructuring and moisturizing Collagen & Aloe Vera mask provides skin with an extreme moisture boost that improves elasticity and promotes hydration. Tip: Use it just before bedtime to reap optimum benefits. This cloth face mask is super soaked in essence. I put it on my face for about 25 minutes and my skin was super hydrated. This is the most hydrating face mask I've ever used. The next morning my skin was super soft. If you have dry skin, give this a shot.

Once again, I was super happy with my Glossybox. There are so many products that I would never pick up and try if it weren't for Glossybox. Ole Henrikson Walnut Complexion Scrub

Hello everyone!

How are all of you doing? Sorry its been such a long time since my last post. I've been pretty maxed out on beauty products and now I'm trying to slowly work through my pile o'goodies. :D I'm actually out of town right now and blogging from Germany.

Today's review will be on Ole Henrikson's Walnut Complexion Scrub ($24). I'm a huge fan of Ole Henrikson products because they're affordable and I always see results on my skin. This exfoliator is like a brown grainy paste that comes in a decent sized jar. You scrub your face twice a week in place of your usual cleanser to reveal younger and smoother skin. So far I like it more that the Dermalogica one because it cleans my face really well. The only thing you have to be careful about is using it gently otherwise it can be too harsh. It smells like fruit, it works well, and I would repurchase it again.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

Hello everyone!

Today I will be reviewing Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant ($50). Years ago, I bought this exfoliator and I haven't found one that measures up to it. Therefore, I went back to Ebay to buy myself a trial version of the newly revamped microfoliant.

Having an exfoliator is really important to keep your skin smooth from dead skin cells. I remember trying to cut back on my exfoliant by buying cheap drug store brands (St. Ives). However, I soon saw that my skin looked red and irritated. I then found out from my aesthetician that cheaper exfoliants tend to use irregularly shaped beads which can cause micro tears in your skin. Not good!

With this information, I decided to switch back to a higher end exfoliant. This Dermalogica exfoliant is interesting, it comes out in a white powder and you have to mix it with water on your hands to get a creamy paste. It feels more like a face wash than an exfoliant because you can't really feel the beads in it. It's extremely gentle on your skin. The result is quite good where my skin looks smooth and bright. However, I feel like I have to scrub my face a few extra times with this product to get my skin and pores really clean. But I think that is still better than scrubbing too hard and damaging your skin. It takes a team of beauty products for me to get glowing skin, and a good exfoliant is one of those beauty products that I just can't live without.
