January Sample Society

Hello everyone,

I hope you're having a good Monday today. I will be reviewing Sample Society's January box. I wasn't too keen on this month's box because some of the items were not suitable for me. However, I did receive a lovely lipstick this month! Let's take a look…

1. Stila Cosmetics Color Balm Lipstick-Vivienne ($22)- A modern take on traditional lipstick, this creamy, lip color provides the full pigment load of a lipstick, yet delivers the shine of a gloss. Featuring a luxe, satin finish, this formula offers excellent color payoff while phyto-derived emollient properties deliver hydrated, healthy lips. Naturally cooling peppermint oil provides a fresh and rejuvenating sensation on the lips, while an exclusive certified organic sunflower based polyglyceride soothes, smoothes, and adds volume and definition to lips. Available in 16 luscious shades. I was really happy to get this lipstick in my box. I'm always happy when I get lipsticks in my box. :D The color is really natural and pretty and definitely a rosy MLBB shade. The texture is creamy.

2. Butter London Horse Power Nail Fertilizer ($20)-Horse Power Nail Fertilizer packs a punch even without those chemical nasties. Like makeup for the nails, it uses an herbal ingredient called Horsetail to strengthen and repair nails. When used properly, the results are really quite staggering! This seems like a great product, but since I have strong nails (from eating a lot of rice,) I personally won't use it. I will probably use it for an upcoming giveaway. :)

3. Orlane Paris Extreme Line Reducing Lip Care ($75)- Achieve truly kissable lips with Orlane Paris Extreme Line Reducing Lip Care. This luxurious treatment plumps lips in just minutes, helping to redefine a beautiful pout. It also hydrates, softens and protects, while preventing fine lines and wrinkles from forming around lips. Ok, so I don't know why I opened this up, but I tried it anyways. It's like a milky watery substance that you put on your lips and it supposedly helps to reduce wrinkles. I don't have any wrinkles yet on my lips so I can't say whether or not it works. It doesn't taste like anything either.



4. StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ($65)-Reduce the formation of wrinkles around eyes with the use of StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. This formula can fight against dark circles, puffiness around eyes, fine lines and crow's feet within weeks. It can increase the firmness, improve texture and renew skin's natural collagen. With regular use of this formula, you can reinforce skin's elasticity and do away fine lines and crow's feet. I will be gifting this to a friend.

5. Tocca Eau de Parfum, Margaux ($68)- The full moon overhead casts a silver light on a midnight stroll between a French beauty and her beloved. Evoking the warmth and comfort of finding your soulmate, Margaux embraces you with velvety petals of green gardenia and ambery violet. Stila Eye Liners

Hello beauties!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Yen came to visit in Cali this week, so we had so much fun being girls and got caught up on life over lattes and good food. Today's review will be on Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Alloy (full size $20) and Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Triggerfish ($20). So I've been shopping around for some new eyeliners and I stumbled upon these two at Sephora. The liquid liner is a light grey matte color and works really well for drawing fine to medium lines. It's super easy to use and the liner stays put all day. I'm definitely keeping this.

The pencil liner in Triggerfish is a twist out liner that goes on pretty easy and stays well on the upper lash line. It didn't stay well at all for my lower lash line. The color is a dark gray with subtle silver sparkles in it. It's really pretty. If you don't need a super thin line or are looking to line your bottom lashes, then this could be really good for you. Unfortunately for me, the line just comes out too thick and waxy for me. One other drawback is that once the pencil twists out, it doesn't twist back in.

I wish Stila would come out with a pencil eye liner that can be sharpened to my liking. I would be all over it. What are your favorite eye liners? Do share in the comments below! Thank you for reading and have a great day. :)

Stila Peach Lip Glaze

Hi everyone!

Today I will be reviewing Stila's Lip Glaze in Peach ($22). Not too long ago, I received an awesome sample size lip glaze in my Sample Society Box in the color Apricot. I loved it so much that I went out and bought myself a full size lip glaze in the color Peach. This color is currently sold out on Sephora, but I opted to get mine on Amazon instead. (It's actually way cheaper too!)

Anyways, I absolutely love this lip glaze. I've always seen Stila Lip Glazes before but never actually tried them. I somehow had a preconceived notion that they would be too sticky and artificial. However, they are actually not too sticky, the smell is amazing like peach candy, and the color is pretty opaque.

I like to pair this lip glaze with my Tarte Blissful blush, and it gives my face a very natural peaches and cream look. It's fresh and very pretty for summer makeup. I'm really glad I discovered these glosses and I will be trying out some more colors the next time I'm in Sephora. Have any of you tried Stila Lip Glazes? If so, which ones do you love? June Sample Society Box

Hi everyone! My June Sample Society Box has come in the mail and it's a great value box. Last month's box was underwhelming for me, but this month's box has lots of awesome stuff, including a small candle! Let's look at what was inside.



1. Stila Cosmetics Lip Glaze In Apricot (full size $22)- This lip gloss looked so pretty in the tube I didn't even want to try it. Mmmmmm it smells like apricot candy! It smells so good and juicy. The color on me pretty much looks clear with a tiny bit of shimmer. The texture is sticky.

2. Diptyque Eau Moheli (full size $98)- Diptyque's exclusive summer scent hits all the right notes: spicy, floral and green thanks to ylang-ylang, black currant, pink peppercorn and pachouli. Although, I'm not a huge perfume person myself, Diptyque makes wonderful perfumes. This one in particular reminds me of the gardenias my grandma plants in her backyard. If you're looking for elegant, floral, and classic scents, Diptyque is the way to go.

3. Philosophy Hope in a Jar (full size $40)- I've always seen this at Sephora and wanted to try it, but I never took the plunge. So when I saw it in my box I was pretty excited. This moisturizer was really lightweight and absorbed super fast into my skin. It had an interesting smell. At first, it smelled really chemical, but on closer inspection it kind of smells like licorice. I'm not a big fan of the smell to be honest. The product itself is pretty good. It doesn't keep my skin as tight as my other products, but it does a nice job of brightening up my skin.

4. Murad Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (full size $36)- Polish away dullness and locked-in impurities with Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, which utilizes a trio of gentle exfoliating acids. I really liked this lightweight cream cleanser. It had small exfoliating beads in it and it felt so gentle on my face. It says for optimal results to use it 2-3 times a week.



5. Illume Desert Tulip Tin (full size $22)- I'm sooo excited I got a mini candle in my box this month. Isn't it pretty? It has a light floral scent with notes of red tulip, raspberry, and musk. These would make awesome gifts for girlfriends. The mini ones are $9 each! I wouldn't mind if Sample Society sent me a candle every month. :)

I was super happy with this months box. I hope the next one will be just as great! Beauty boxes have opened me up to so many great items that I would have never tried on my own.
